Today, we’re highlighting a recent installation of a CorGal 405.5 rainwater tank at a residential property. This tank holds over 1,300 gallons of water and is primarily used for irrigation purposes. From the start of this project, we knew our tanks diameter would be the biggest limiting factor in creating a complete water system for this residence. Metal tanks rarely come in sizes compact enough for such restrictive areas, but we also knew they would provide the best long‑term performance.
Fortunately, our partners at Water Storage Tanks, Inc. worked closely with us to engineer a unique and custom tank that met the strict diameter requirements while still providing the storage volume the homeowner needed. The final result was a sleek, space‑efficient tank standing over 16 feet tall! This was a unique installation that both our team and the customer were thrilled to see come together.

Advancing Sustainability at One of the World’s Busiest Airports
SWS is proud to highlight our recent contribution to the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) as part of its groundbreaking Electric Central Utility Plant (ECUP) initiative. The ECUP development is a cornerstone of DFW’s mission to achieve Net Zero Carbon emissions by 2030, modernizing the airport’s heating and cooling infrastructure while dramatically improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
Our Solution: Customer Engineered CorGal Steel Tank
As a trusted partner in sustainable water systems, SWS collaborated closely with Water Storage Tanks, Inc. to design and deliver a CorGal 1509 Corrugated Rainwater Harvesting Tank customized with a flat roof to meet height restrictions. Powered by a duplex pump system, this tank collects rooftop rainwater and channels it into the ECUP facility, where it is reused within the airport’s heating and cooling processes.

Optimized for Limited Space: Site constraints were one of the most challenging aspects of this installation. Working alongside Water Storage Tanks, Inc., SWS engineered a custom configuration that maximized storage within strict spatial limitations—without compromising aesthetics or performance.
Despite the tight installation footprint, our crew successfully stood the tank and pumps in under two weeks.

All fire tanks are engineered and designed the NFPA 22 and are built to the specifications required by the local authority having jurisdiction.
Rainwater harvesting and breweries go hand in hand in Austin, Texas. The CorGal 0802-WT-CHR will allow for 2,500 gallons of water storage and adds to the beautiful mural in the back.
The Luci and Ian Family Garden is a Sustainable Sites Initiative™ (SITES®) Pilot Project at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. To inform children about water conservation and rainwater harvesting, the landscape architect designed an 8,000 gallon CorGal® inverted roof tank. This tank played an integral role in helping the LBJ Wildflower Center achieve that prestigious SITES® status, one of only 30 in the nation.
The tank sits between a solar-powered, wooden pavilion and a stone restroom building. Water is collected from both buildings’ roofs to replenish a creek, which houses fish, tadpoles, frogs and native water plants. The water tank also feeds the gorgeous waterfall display in the center of the garden. The Family Garden connects the younger generation with nature and promotes conservation.
